I'm just curious.

I wave on occasion seen people kite surf with Peter Lynn kites.

Being used to sailing bow kites, I was just curious how they relaunch these kites off the water. Do they get water inside the kites?

right, long time pl flyer, changed to mostly bows a year ago

Water getting in? maybe a little bit but not enough to be a problem. if it's windy enough to kitesurf they will take off with maybe 1/2 a cup per wingtip and it will happily drain out in a few seconds.. any more water than that and they will sit ready to launch, drain and then take off.

if you blow a hole in one then it will fill up quicker but will still take a long time to fill right up..

the relaunching thing.. there are a couple of tricks to it just like an inflatable but i found the relaunch to be about as easy as trying to get a lei off the water, like all kites if the wind is super light then the relaunch will be a struggle..
