We are deep into a wind-drought here in Nelson. I see Blenheim gets some wind that we dont.
Are there any good spots? Ive been looking at the wairau bar on google earth but im not sure if its any good for kites.

Wairau bar, there are few kitesurfers in Blenheim. It's a good spot, you need to scope water out for washed up logs etc, tricky launch, no crowds/watchers and can be very exposed if it goes wrong. A few boards have been sucked out to the cook straight too.

Marfells Beach,in Clifford Bay just past the salt works is a good spot too, gets a lot of wind. Google Cape Campbell for wind.

Wait for Zbynek to post, he's kiter over that way knows the spot well.

I've just got back from there after four months and only went for one kite. I didn't really have time, but the bar looks a bit different from the picture above now. I think they've added a jetty thing which has changed the area. It was gusty as, had big rocks, sharks and heaps of gorse and stones for launching. If you go there you will wreck your gear if you don't go with someone else. A guy called Zenek is there, but not sure if he is still around. A few guys kite down there so you could take your chances and just turn up. The Marfells option sounds better to be honest!
