Anybody know what the ACTUAL rules are at Cheltenham?

The ARC/Harbourmasters website has info about the general rules in the harbour (200 m off shore for 5kts + >50m from any swimmer) but then there's a special section talking about buoys and restricted zones........

Could the Harbourmaster, if he's watching this, let us know what REALLY is the situation so its clear for all of us.......please?

There is so much heresay around the topic a good clear statement of the ACTUAL situation would be much appreciated

Kite Surfing
at Cheltenham Beach
• Active kite surfing must be undertaken a minimum of 100m from the water’s edge.
• Launching of your kite must be undertaken at least 50m from any swimmer, and launched up wind. If possible, you should walk your kite out as close as possible to the channel and when returning dismount as far out as possible.
• No kite surfing within 50m of a swimmer. $200 fines can be enforced by the Harbourmaster.
• Under no circumstance are kites to be flown above the beach or properties.
• Pedestrians and swimmers have right of way.
• Be considerate to residents and other beach users. Appreciate that other beach users may be frightened of kites, lines and boards.
• Confine your activities to one area. Set up where the majority of kites to ensure you minimise the amount of beach obstructed.
• Do not set up in Balmain Reserve.
• If possible avoid using Cheltenham Beach on busy summer days.
• Park legally – cars parking on the grass verge or over driveways will be ticketed or towed.
• If you kite surf at Cheltenham Beach, it is your responsibility to abide by these protocols and to enforce them. Please, don’t be offended if someone comes up and tells you to comply with them.
• We need to self-police these rules in order to be able to continue kite surfing at Cheltenham Beach.

PLEASE USE COMMONSENSE AT ALL TIMES.

Tks mate.........watched kites launching on the beach yesterday and flying over walkers and beach....so how long b4 it hits the fan I wonder?
