Just a heads up to say that all round good guy Dean from NZ board store pt chev is organising a freeride event on Fri 6th feb. Waitangi day. Event locations for the day will be wind dependent. If its southwest options are The lagoon at the top of Muriwai, Tapora, South head. If its any kind of east direction Mangawhai heads either the esturary or sandbar if there is swell. This is an open invite to kitesurfers at any level to come ride and have a blast with some of aucklands top kiters. You might even get a free sausage!!
Final decision on location will be posted on this forum on thursday the 5th feb. Hope to see you all there.

:twisted: Not all of Aucklands top kiters are into the National kite freestyle event. In no way am i knocking the event, im just saying its not for me. So if you are still in Auckland and not going to the nats for whatever reason hope to see you there... All the best for the comp Decay.

:idea: Anyone wishing to drink a few beers after the free ride should bring a tent. There are a few of us thinking about getting on it after the days events and camping out for the night. Beats falling asleep at the wheel..... Anyway its going to be an awesome day. I have pre ordered a 25 knot southwester with sunny weather and a mini bar. See u all there.

so how do you get to the lagoon at the top of muriwai? do you need a 4x4?

you dont need a 4x4 to get to the lagoon. You can get there from south head rd. Keep going past muriwai turn off. When you get to roundabout turn left past parakai. Stay on main rd and keep an eye out for Trigg rd on the left. Maybee search on wises.co.nz :shock:
