Hey there... im coming down to dunners for a bit of a uni/surfing reunion with my old flat mates from a few years back.

Problem is in the last year since i have been hookd on kiteboardin ive been chasing the onshores more than the offshores...

I really would love to get some kiting in down there. I bet Ara's is wicked and i have seen a vid of the harbour lookin good... Ocean view can probably turn it on too.

So my question is... is there many kiters in dunners thatd be keen for a mid week session?

when you heading down? im up in chch for the summer but come feb next year ill be down there studying again.

Craig and Co. seem to be always around for a fly as well...

the harbour is good too but can be dangerous without a bit of local knowledge....

middle beach / st kilda on a sw is fun but can be brutal

Is there any sites on the net about kiting in DUnedin and/or the catlins?

Any flat water spots in the catlins?

some of it's a bit out of date and some of it is a bit overblown on purpose to keep the learner muppets away from the nasty stuff that we kite at most days..

sw the beach or lake waihola or harwood.

nw no kiting.

thats about it for dunedin.

catlins? never kited there... the sw always seems a bit x-off at the beaches, there's not much flatwater, fortrose lagoon or waituna lagoon are flat, further south, awarua or oreti or te wae wae or colac bay
