Hi - I have noticed that my lines are wearing quite badly where they twist after doing rolls/loops. I was intending to swap the ends of the lines so they wear in a different place, but is there anything I can do to slow down the wearing? Some sort of wax I can put on the lines maybe?

I guess some lines/kites wear worse than others. This is a Cabrinha SB3 that I have had since new. I never had this problem when I couldn't do rolls

Thanks in advance, Trev

the coloured stuff that some lines have is a urethane based stuff called ropecoat

its kinda messy to put on but is kinda slippery

but just unspin your lines soon after the roll

i've never snapped lines at that point anyway, they still snap on the ends...

just don't worry about it!

hey Craig

how many line sets have you snapped out of interest.

I have snapped leaders but not lines, Swapped out a set when some snowboarders decided to shorten them for me by riding over them, My fault and i payed for it.

Some folks use wax as well. seems to work, How ever i concider lines to be a replaceable part and renew them every season.

plenty

usually doing something very silly like underwater kitelooping

or letting a kite go to leash in 40 knots

broke a brand new set of q-power line once, all four lines... bang

try to keep my lines reasonably happy as I don't have much of a safety margin...
