I am heading up to Auckland for a week or two's work.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a bit of after work kiting?
I'll be staying in Ponsonby. Are there any public transport options? I won't have a car.

if you are in ponsonby you have a few options. if it blows SW then there is a bus to Pt Chev which would be closest for you. if it blows NW or W then Meola reef is even closer on the bus. possibly even walk. if we get NE then head over to Cheltenham The ferry then a short walk from the CBD. These spots are all tidal dependant. so check the spot guide on the forum.

i spent 3 days in auckland working and managed to get one primo session at cheltenham beach! What an epic set up and such AWESOME local crew who were so inviting and friendly. Super warm water too and it was Mid June.

I took the ferry over from the CBD then walked... It took ages! Got a ride back to the ferry from a local kiter which was great cos i was stuffed after that!
