Hi guys

For one of my articles I'm after kiteboarders who are a bit different from the average Joe...

Short people, very tall, very big, missing a leg, an arm, a brain (?), very young, very old.. maybe someone who's a CEO of a big firm or a millionaire or homeless...
Just people that you wouldn't think would be kiteboarders!

Yes .

I know someone who kites occasionally, he is quite a big dude, he's kinda homeless - he had a significant amount of his brain damaged, walks with a dodgey limp & a fused lower spine & rides a very original DaDa-art self-made board.

If you are interested I can make enquiries for interview possibilities - he speaks a bit of french too - dont know if that will help tho', I can hardly understand a word of his english.

I fit missing the brain part quite well, just ask my instructors.

Speaking of which I'm sure most instructors have come across their fair share of clients who wouldn't fit the kiter stereotype.

There's a old bloke in Nelson - Ernie he's 50+.

He's a windsurfer who converted to kite-surfing last summer.
He was windsurfing way back when it first began in NZ and those in those circles will know him.
He's a grey old bastard with a white beard and we all call him Santa Claus.
First on the water and last off the water a lot of the time too.
Aspiration to many!!

Ty a local in Paihia Bay of Islands learnt to kiteboard in Feb this year, he has one hand, for his day job he dives the Rainbow Warrior.
