Hi,
I'm heading over to NZ from the UK in Feb next year for a wedding and as my girlfriend is unwilling to make the 24 hour flight I'm looking at it as an opportunity to get as much kitesurfing in as possible!!

Can anyone recommend any good spots in the Auckland area? I used to live there so am familiar with the area, though didn't kitesurf at the time so wasn't aware of the wind etc.

Interesting choice of username for the site!!! There are places in Auckland to Kite, however you must, of course take into consideration wind direction and tidal movement. Orewa beach is awesome from NE to E. Tamaki Estuary and Eastern Beach. Point Cheviler and Murawai beach are also good spots. Inner Auckland habour areas are mainly flat water to 1/2 meter chop. Eastern Beaches depend on previous days weather while the west coast will almost always produce good waves.

My recommendation woudl be to google earth or google map these names around Auckland. Post a message when you are closer to landing.

Where in the UK are you from. I moved over here in December, from Kent. Camber was my local.
