TOPIC: Auckland Nav & Safety Bylaw review submissions closing

Auckland Nav & Safety Bylaw review submissions closing 4 years, 2 months ago #16367

Attention all kite boarders wishing to have there say where and how to board:

As mention in previous posts this office has reviewed the Auckland Regional Navigational and Safety Bylaws and the draft bylaws are out for submission by the public. There were four meetings held in the Auckland area and these were also posted here. Apart from myself, only one other boarder turned up to the meetings, which would show that most don't mind or care about any changes to the way kite boarding is governed and any restrictions placed onto the sport.

If you do care then here is your last chance to have a say. Below I have attached the links to the draft bylaw and the submission form. If you wish to make a submission you have to do add two things to make your submission valid, one outline your concern and two give an outline of an idea to remedy your concern.

Your submissions must be recieved by this office or ARC by 1640 (4.30pm) Friday 29th February 2008

A quick read and it all seems very accommodating to kiters! It looks like we can even still kite at Takapuna, provided we are respectful of other users.

Pity the surfers / boogers were't respectful last weekend; there were a bunch sitting right out from the boat launching ramp, right in the way of us & the polies. What up with that???

Hey Tangled,

I don't think we own the area.

Looks like the new rules for AKL came out last month:

Looks very workable to me.
