At one point I counted 36 kites on the water... Wow...

Only 30 today... I was just on my way home and noticed the kites, and happened to have my cam in the car.

This spot is the estuary windsurf area - you'll find it at the eastern end of Linwood Ave/Humphries Drive. The north east sea breeze tends to be ~5 knots stronger there than at the beach, which is where I was on this day, all alone
