Just need to fill in where 'Wind & Kite' left out.

These new 'vented canopy' kites turned up last week & we've been testing them in a wide variety of conditions from coast to coast! lol....no kidding!
The 10m was the first out of the bag last week....strong gusty westerly wind at Sumner bar (real gusty), 5 kiters out. All had issues, bar one.......
Most were either flagging downwind after a short time or packing it in after two tacs....Tom rode high in channel on the 10m, kite not bating an eyelid, rock solid (shitty holes & gusts too) boosting HUGE (the biggest he's ever done he reckons) staying exactly where he wants to be...even rescued a stranded kiter on the wrong side of the bar & towed him back.
I used the 12m on the Estuary in a light NE & it felt smooth & solid, hardly 11-13 knots, but rideable, flew well while unhooking & hitting Hugh & Scottys slider....nice!
The real test came at Carters on the Westcoast. Saturday, 15 rising to 35 plus knots later, the kind of wind that would send a directional kiteboard hurtling end for end down the beach....(you had to be there)
The 10m had smoooth power, BIG lift, just sheet in while airbourne & get secondary lift, rock solid canopy, fun ride... the 8m came out later, nice, fun wave kite, felt like it could handle heaps more wind, but fun when it went cross off & real gusty!
Two days at Nine mile & it was hard to get my hands on the 10 & 12m kites, nice to see such happy grins after some big sessions...
