FYI- Matamona Fiji:
I was there on for 6 days in early June. When the trade wind blew (only 1 of 6) it was a good kiting spot; good beach to launch, flat water inside reef, pool+deck grandstand view to show off to if you're a show pony. A bit tricky at low tide as the coral reef is exposed and only a small gap to get through. I kited upwind (Sth) and Eastern side of Island. Not good for beginners though as no backstop downwind.

I wouldn't go there just to kite, but if you do, take your gear. Enjoy.
