hey guys and girls ... anyone gona be down in wanaka / queenstown these school hols (i think likr the 5th july) might be some snow kiting? would be cool to have a whole lota ppl to kite with! and anyone gona brave the water?

Ill be in the south island 3rd-12th july, but going all over the place. Might be free for a day or two to give it a go...break some bones :?

still snowing in QT as well sussing out some flat spots for kiting as soon as it clears seems like there are a few school parks that could be good around here.

what are the rules with snowkiting up at snowfarm? can u just rock up?

I suggest you phone before you go, as you need to get permission and probably pay for access to the areas suitable for kiting. These are in the 'vehicle testing grounds', and in the past couple of years I've kited in the vicinity of the water reservoir about 500m to the north of the main building. Ask nicely for vehicle access to a suitable parking area, and expect to walk a bit to find wide open and exposed spaces. Best wind is a rising NW, before it gets too nasty. Wear a helmet and watch out for rocks and wire fences, and enjoy. Good luck.
