I've always used PL kites and now want a gruntier 10-15kn kite than my low aspect 17m BOMBA. I've also got a 13m venom and planned to get a 16m venom but I'm open to suggestions / offers from others. I kite in Taranaki, more into wave than jumping.

so are people still buying flying PL kites or should using more and more bow sle's?? Also if you know of anyone wanting to sell a venom pm me

Hi David,

I too fly PL have a GII 15 & 18, I also have a 13m Best Waroo.
My progress in the sport has realy shot ahead since getting the waroo Jan07. I would sugest you consider a mix, I'm 86Kg the GII15 & 13 waroo suits me but I keep the 18GII because my teenage son keeps grabing the waroo.

Yesterday enjoyed a session at 90mile my PL is steady and by giving alittle more depower stap can ease a little beter upwind than the waroo. But as far as playing on the waves (small ones) waroo seemed far better, the kite responds a lot quicker than the PL, letting you zoom up to the wave slow down instantly with enough power to ride it in ... lots of fun.

Maybe keep your 13V and have a try of a BOW, just remember if you let go the bar it won't go to the zenith, it'll crash. Anyway thats my 2c worth ... as for me I fell I have the best of both worlds

Hey why not try Fly Surfer Kites . These are amazing to use and easier to relaunch plus cover a bigger wind range . I can garantee you would not be disappointed . Have a look on foilzone.com.au and see what fellows are saying about them in comparison to other foils .

Also have a look on www.flysurferkites.com.au and you can see the kites and wind ranges . The most popular are the Psycho 's as these are great for free style and yet excellant in the surf .

Good luck and enjoy kiteing
