I got a Decay 140 from the Patman just after christmas and finally had the opertunity to try it out today, the conditions were a bit light at raglan but the board handled the chop as well as the flat water quite well, board was a bit nervous at first having upgraded from a directional but after 1 session i was stoked with it. Gota figure out a good spot for the board leash tho as it tombstoned on me trying to relaunch
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Hi Mark,

I'm glad you are happy with your new ride!

I'm not a big fan of board leashes - I've had to many boards hit me in the head/arm/body at high speed thanks to the leash.

And thats why I dont put an attachment point for the leash on any of my boards.

I'd recommend you ditch the leash, but if you HAVE to use one the fin bolts are the best attachment point. You can replace the counter-sunk fin bolts with pan head bolts and a large washers, and put a short piece of webbing between the two bolts. Then its just a matter of tying you leash to the webbing.

Attaching the leash to the footstrap or handle bolts will cause it to tombstone badly.

Hi Jono,

It was good to meet you in Ch-ch, and finlly figure out who that was flying the black SS Fuel!

If you get a chance check out the Decay website, there is a lot of detail on the boards in there. I've been making boards professionally for over 2 years now.

If you have any questions in regards to the boards please feel free to drop me a line on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

You can also stop in and see Pat at Bayswater Windsports.

There are good numbers of Saber 147's/Katana 137's in Auckland, but only one Dagger 122 that I know of - it is my latest shape after all!
