If anybody is interested in snowkiting, answer from snowfarm office is that there is enough snow at the moment and ski trails can even be used as they are not groomed yet.
Im not sure they really know about the snow requirement for kiting, so confirmation from the Wanaka crew would be much appreciated.
Access fee is $20.

Just that the freezing southerly at Ellesmere is not really appealing to me, and I wouldn't be suprised if the NE 5 to 15 forecast turned to NE 3 gusting 5 ,so looking for alternative plans....any ideas?

If it's on down there I'll break away next weekend, who's keen?

Seeing as we've managed on about 2cm I'd day there's ptobably enough. I've seen what Tim does to his rock board though, and he wouldn't need much snow at all.

HI !

I am touring around NZ at the moment and would love to try some snow kiting. I am going to be in the wanaka / Queenstown area from next week. Where do people go ?

I have my own gear but will probably need to add the 5th line for the relaunches. Is there a Kite shop close to these areas ?

Cheers

My apologies Craig.

My attempts at using this forum to meet up like minded people for some snow kiting seem to offend you ?

Never mind. Hopefully don't meet losers like you on any piste soon.

hmm ok thats an odd reply, anyone who actually knows me knows I am a laidback to the point of being horizontal guy not likely to be offended by anything short of a stiff jab to the nose. (go on try it i'll sit on ya! )

the me me me was in reply to Tim (mr kitesports.co.nz) asking if anyone was keen. always up for an adventure.

i have little idea what u are talking about there mr pommie.

good luck trying to offend me, you'd have to try damn hard,

to answer your question:

Is there a Kite shop close to these areas

nup, Dunedin has no real kiteshops (sure me and one other dealer but no actual shops)

Wanaka, nup
Queenstown, nup

nearest would be Groundswell, Eastcoast and Tim's kitesports.co.nz all in Christchurch.

Craig (I'm so nice and relaxed I'm offensive! ) in Dunedin

I'm keen, but I might have missed this session due to the old post. Tim can you give me a call if you're putting together another snow session this winter 021 070 8150?
