Well I gave kite skiing a go for the first time yesterday. I have been waiting for a year to give it a go and wasn't disappointed!!! If anyone is kicking around Wanaka/Queenstown area drop me a line. I am here for the next week and will be at Wana Kite

Did you need chains to get up?

I have a 4wd so no chains needed. Best to bring some chains if you have 2wd. You might be lucky and get up by the time wanakite comes around. Wouldn't count on it though.

me and a few lads are heading down that way on monday. for the wanakite and beyond. two skiers and two boarders. Cant wait and your vid just got me even more fired up!!!!

we will be in a backpacker rental campervan keen to catch up and have a kite/drink for sure.

Geez the snowboad bulldozers make a mess of the untracked stuff... At least us skiers make good use of the untracked stuff. Tried snowboarding against my better judgement today....skiings the one

Mate, there's nothing like a toe side turn with a downloop..., unless it's followed with a heelside turn while still looping the kite - and again. Here's my GPS tracks from Sunday 31st - an epic day - although the Google Earth image is missing some snow cover.
