Hmmm.. the old chestnut. Bar or Handles??

Handles are great when learning the basics of kite flying and control. They generally give a better feel and can make the kite more manoeuvrable by using the brakes during the turn making them faster and sharper. For a complete beginner a Control Bar is really not necessary until you have mastered kite flying control and have progressed to wanting to do tricks or aerial moves on your board.

A Control Bar gives you easier control of kite while flying one or no-handed for performing grabs and board-off manoeuvres. A Bar can also give a more solid feeling of connection with the Kite, but can be a little slower when turning the kite. Some flyers never progress to a bar and quite happily landboard with handles.

For cruising & carving handles will be fine.

well someone has to saye BAR, the closest i've come to handles was a delta kite i got :roll: :oops: Mmmm.. XXX years ago...

I was crack'n up the other day.. someone with a small delta, arms all over the place try'n to make it turn. ha... but in 15knots dam there FAST! like a wasp on speed.
