Spig i am soooo pisssed oooffff today.Wind was all good this afternoon got my X2 up and everything was going good.I started off slowly going down the beach and then a dog comes up to me and starts goin nuts at me and followed me all the way down to the pier and proceeded to bite me but i kept on shouting at it so it stayed back most of the tim. Then i started going faster and lost the dog.thank god. Then a huge gust came and i leaned back and then it just vanished and i went falling on my arse and this is the most shitful part.ONE OF MY WHEELS decided to break and im 8 km away from home!!!took me fuken ages to get home and now i need a new wheel.
Do you know where i could get a new hub?kitesports?

Man, that really sucks a big one....

Hubs are like gold dust around NZ, they are difficult to get hold of for love nor money... I have been trying to find somewhere to get hold of some new MBS Rockstar hubs and I am still waiting to hear back.... Last time I was in Kitesports, Tim didn't have any components or accessories, but it may be worth a call...

My firts choice would be to contact Joe from NZ Mountainboarder ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ), who is putting together a deal to bring Ground Industries/Dirt Theory equipment in to NZ, and ask him what the leadtime is on hubs. Although you might have to wait until after Xmas and GI Crosshair hubs will cost around $100 a set, these young guys are 'real' mountain boarders and could really do with our support to help them get established.

Alternatively you could buy direct from the MBS or GI Website if you are in a hurry, which I would imagine you are.... Other than that you could check out KiteWorks in Auckland, (www.kiteworks.co.nz) or EscapeToo (www.escapetoo.com). There are some new guys on the block called 'High-as-a-Kite" (www.highasakite.co.nz) who are trying to get in on the kiteboarding scene and will sell you some MBS Rockstars for $95 including shipping, and their first consignment from the USA is due in this week.

Hang in there mate, if I hear of anyone with a spare set of hubs I'll put them in contact....

Southie....

Wait until you leave....!!! NO WAY, you are not going to Canada until next year, you will miss out on some great action if you don''t get your board sorted out by then...

Time to get your Dad to spring for a new board I think, or at least a new set of hubs.... It is almost Christmas after all...

I am goin to get a new board when i get to canada.mbs core 16 to start off with. But all i need is a lousy wheel so i can get out here again and i cant find any cheap solutions. Its always hard getting spare parts for anything in NZ eg.our washing machine needed some new part from overseas when it broke and like when my flexifoil kite broke in the first 6 months i purchased it i got it fixed for free by flexifoil but it had to be done by a certified flexifoil kite repairer and that had to be sent overseas and just wasted my time.Guess im just gonna be kitesurfing at the estuary til i go.i wanted to go kiting so badly this afternoon.well anyways enough about me.what you been up 2?the last 2 days hav been pretty good for kiting down my place.

Hey Guys, Sounds like youre having a few supply probs over there. When I came back last oct with buggy minus wheels, it took me half my trip, 2 weeks , to find someone who had the right size........greif..
nevermind.... anyway, As a kiter, i wouldnt recommend GI Hubs for Landboarding. The spokes crack and break really easily. I have lost count of how many ive been thru and am now back on Rockstars, which are better, but not much, they just warp instead. GI's dont seem to handle the side loading that we give em. If youre not too worried about a couple of extra 100 grams get some Primo's or other Hardcore hubs, Or rockstars, cause theyre safer and are less likely to blow out on you at the critical moment.

Jus my 2 cents.
