I am not impressed with build quality of slingshot - the bridle line on one side of my kite is now seven inches shorter than the other one. Had a scary scenario out on the sand bank in Nelson and had to fly a really unstable kite back across. Also the bearing in the bar dissolved and needed replacing. The kite has not had a HUGE amount of flying time and I know the Rev II is no longer manufactured but it makes me unlikely to stick with Slingshot when i buy a full new quiver next season. I might go with Ozone's yet to be released Reo!

Hmm, to kitesurf or to landboard? That is the question for a kite addicted junkie.

I can't attest to the quality of slightshot. But can say that all leis wear very fast compaired to foils. I have come to the conclusion that 1 year of hard use is the most you can expect from an inflatable.

You are flying all most every day for extended periods of time. Your wear rate of inflatables will be very high. At a guess i'd say you have compressed 2-3 years worth of the average blokes kiting into the last 6 months.

So what i'm trying to say is i'm not suprised you have worn bridle parts on your kites.

I think the key for you will be monitoring wear and tear and try and to replace any worn parts before they fail. Perrin makes up bridle parts so cheap its rediculous.

So its the lines the pulleys are on? If it is a am not supprised at all at the wear. i replace the bridles on the pullies of my manta quite often. well once a year. but thats about 2 months of Deano time.

Get Perrin to make some spares!..... then you wont have down time.

On a side not ozone iflatables don't have any pullies so there is less chance of bridle wear.

yeah pulleys suck for sure I'm gonna look at getting a full set of Ozone Reo's when they are released.

Nelson is a temporary location and in the right conditions there are huge swells here. Last Sunday all the local surfers were out in the waves. Reo or Catalyst - a four kite quiver

on a side note you didn't like the old 12m ozone you had which would be closer to the performance of the reo, catalyst. they are low aspect kites with less upwind ability but fast turning and floats down the line well...........

I recond consider the C4 as a more dynamic kite for lots of applications... good in the waves but also busts out mean kiteloops and just.

maybe blag a fly on cat and c4
