TOPIC: Blue balls Buggy Bash. May 28/29 Port Waikato

Blue balls Buggy Bash. May 28/29 Port Waikato 1 year, 3 months ago #26604

The 17th winter gathering of the buggies will be held early this year.

28/29 May Port Waikato NZ

low tide is around 1 and 2pm

Racing at 1pm Saturday. Flyers meet 12.45.

Saturday on the beach, Free riding, Radar speed runs and points racing.
Saturday night and Sunday in the dunes.

This is the 2nd round of the Western Circuit Points Champs. There will be 2 points races. 1 sprint and a 1 hour feature for the Blue Balls trophy.

The points race is still on. With so many wild-cards taking big points at the Nut Buster there is still potential for someone to come in and win it in the next 2 rounds.

There is a nice holiday park with lots of cabins and parking for Al's van.

You can drive right onto the beach or park by the chip shop, which is right next to the beach
Hmm, to kitesurf or to landboard? That is the question for a kite addicted junkie.

sweet then its time for a bit of crash talk to set the scene for the bbbb.....

bout time i put that pesky Al in the "beatin by a lanboarder" club...
and jimmy22 needs a sound wollaping by a landboarder too.

maybe i'll wear the easter bunny constume the missis forced me to wear for the kids on the weekend.... it was mildy disturbing.

since theres some stand up men going we need to have the distance jump comp again!
tell perrin to change his bearings. i'm sick of hearing wop, wop, wop when he hoons past.

maybe he has a can of wup wup wup arse and lets it go as he passes me!!!..... he's usually passing every one else too.... one day those magic hands will make a mistake and I'll be waiting to pounce on his misfortune. much like the tiger waits for the wounded gazell. waits, waits, waits... then bam your in the beaten by plummet club.

i'm like chinese water torture. slowly ticking a way. i wont stop until all buggiers are in the club. there that craig hansen fellow too. he needs a sound woopin by a landboarder.

of course it doesn't matter if a buggier beats me. i just say oh well buggies are faster than landboards......

ill stick with KRS one for my racing theme tune i think

although not a bone in my body is keen to race right now, im hopeful of 1km straights again at some point!? whats worse than bringing the wrong buggy, having the right one at home . one more outing and ill know what to bring , i think.

Bring everything! haven't you learnt that yet? strap them on, around, in, underneith your car. Or do what you did for the 09 bbbb. Arrive like a rock star with your vehicle on a tow truck. then you could take all sorts of equipment!

i must agree with plummet there wayne, you have a lot of kit....why not use it all to your advantage, for examle....at the nutbuster i had both buggys set up ready to go, the libre was sitting in the sidelines with kite sanded, lines attached and totaly ready to go.
and on that note, not everyone has 2 buggys to chose from...this fact alone makes you uber competative...and nobody has as many kites as you....remember that!!
best thing to do is take both buggys to the beach and use them back to back on the track....same with kites...let them make the decisions for you.

im very dissapointed you dont feel like racing, this is a bad thing, what the hell has happend???we need some waynos turbos....either that or a big size 13 up your A## !!!

short but sweet vid of our portwaikato mission on the weekend...the port is a primo place to buggy....we has so much fun..will make for an awsome cross country buggy race without everyone getting lost in the dunes like we do in the moose.

looking forwards to the blueballs!!!

thanks to perrin for the vid.

well the spot where we parked is hard and totaly landboardable and is also a prime spot for shortcoursing, persuit, drags....any kind of competition....its probably 200m long by 85m wide..

the dunes were quite soft and fluffy due to blown sand, ther quite hard after rain and have a hard base (have buggied there with barrows easily) so itl depend on the day....if its been raining youl be able to landboard..i think?!!
also, thers a hard ringroad that encompases a lot of the dunes that i recon you could use to tack back upwind then down again through the dunes in a loop.

Re: Blue balls Buggy Bash. May 28/29 Port Waikato 1 year ago #27287

The Blue Balls is going to be on the Ocean beach on Saturday and the dunes on Sunday.

The beach is a couple of Kms long.

so.... wash and wax your goats and get them ready for sacrifice to the wind gods! Charlie tell Crafer 700 goats was a bit much last time. maybe a respectable 10-20 goats will give us good wind.

If you don't have goats then a good old naked chant around a bonfire won't go amiss.

ooh.... i'm amping up for some crazy land action.

Any mad ideas mooted?

maybe bonfire jumping at night? with a kite of course.
