I scored a 15m manta the other and raced the buggiers in 6-8 knots and ended up a respectable 5th out of 10.

Any way yesterday i did a quick afterwork session in 12-17 knots.

wholy hang time batman. that was like the hand of god scooping me from the earth, holding me up there and gently depositing me down many meters away.

It turns like a truck so i need to adopt a different technique to get the re-direct sorted. i think the technique will be go higher and longer to have enough time for the kite to re-direct!....

Its so damn lifty and effortless and the air time is so long i might even be forced to do some freestyle just to pass the time as i soar through the air.

yeah it would look strange just to see you dangling the whole time. try throwing the board up at least 10 feet above you and see how many times it will rotate around the kite lines before you come down , or do a 1080 inverted . Personally i think id do some dangle for another few sessions. Do you know how to get back down if it goes paraglider on you ? Pete can explain. we cant have you arriving unexpectedly in Akld, you know you need to warn us now , thanks to the last time

Just as I thought I was alone in my mission for lightwind glee on my 13m FrenzyFX, you come join the pursuit for happiness on with Gannets 15m Manta(hope it's not that pink one). I'm afraid those boys with their 17m Yak GianT may have a lot more fun as long as nobody had baked beans on toast for breakfast.

PS. Forgot how shakey those channel trucks are if not set up for your weight. Good old wobbleboard!

Holy cow thats a big kite and in 12-17 knots i'm not surprised you got heaps of hang time in those winds i get a good hang time from my 6.8 PL Viper with a pendulum jump in those winds.

yeah mate that was powered in those winds but still controllable. amusingly the kitesurfers were using 12's and i threw up a 15m hehhe. static jumping was equally as silly!

i did a 23m long glide without even trying!

guster yourve got a 13m fx? is there anything your don't have? i think you need a 17m yak!! hahaha.... for those 2 knot days!

jimmy i'll call in to air traffic control if i'm floating your way. don't want to get that little 7m yak or yours stuck in my lines again!

Yeah, I don't have a small depower foil to complete my depower foil quiver!

Man that 17m YakGT is tempting. Fills up a lot of sky with a lot of colour but I have all the love I'll ever get with the 12m YakGT or the 13m FrenzyFX whether I'm standing or sitting for it!

well had a few sessions on the 15m and my light wind enjoyment is freaken enormous.

i'm getting a handle on the re-direct. essentially you have to re-direct HARD as soon as you leave the ground. the kite slowly arcs around. if you time it right you float up. phyicalls stop and hover for what seem like a second or 2 then glide back down many meters away landing as the kite drifts down into the powerzone. and off you hoon at with an enormous grin. the grin even more enormous because its only 10-12 knots of wind!

There was one point when i thought these jumps aren't very big anymore, i'm only getting 3 foot or so of height and 10 meter glide. Whats the guts? the wind had dropped off 2 6-8 knots!!!

Nice.
