TOPIC: I passed a class 5 land yacht.

I passed a class 5 land yacht. 1 year, 9 months ago #24762

Woohoo Today I did the impossible. I passed a class 5 land yacht. They are the 100k+ yachts. I have to admit that it was not having a real push but I caught it in a dull patch of wind and roared on passed. Thats right up there with passing the Terminator. I don't care if he has a broken buggy and a wet kite. I f I can pass Perrin I am happy.
For todays effort I was testing my new 3m PL Twister 2. I got a broken one and replaced all the primary bridles. It was flying great but was a bit small for the wind and the angle was all wrong. The land yachts were pulling 80k+ on the good runs. I wasn't going that fast but I will take that pass.
Nice kite that twister. It is the one Craig did 88kph on my beach with so it will go as fast as I want to ride and it handles great.
After I got back from the beach I took my buggy apart and made some bushes up so I could fit my composite axle. Its 1030mm but I am going to space it out to near 1100. I am so looking forward to riding on that. Should have done it before I went riding but time was running out and I was keen to try my new kite.
With the blue balls and the new bits and a bit of pace recently it has been a good month.

bieng over taken by a landboarder was like a bad dream..a bad memory..a nightmate, one where han solo and luke skywalker endup working for jabba and darth vader takes over the galaxy.
the darkside cannot win, my whole world turned upside down...i may never get over it...its the worst thing that could have possibly happend EVER.

He passed me one time. Pretty heart breaking. Not the worst thing ever but I made sure I passed him back. Didn't feel much better after that.

lets face it theres a thin margin of cross wind with a little down wind angle that i can foot it almost with the buggies. if it gets too upwind or downwind i'm screwed. i'm not too far behind tho so if you have a little issue i'll pounce and take advantage of your misfortune. not unlike the lion pounces on the weakest slowest wilderbeast in the heard....

i'm hunkering for another match up with the buggiers. maybe the moose? goto get some time back on the board tho. its been severly lacking in the last 3 months.
