VERY HEAVY,the buggy is 45kg with 3 BFs, + brackets and 2 more BFs,
so that wound be about ;65kg yer

the good thing about that is I don't have to eat more PIES

you have to grunt it with the kite to 15 - 20 km to get her moving
then shes of like a mad thing
hills and bumps are not there + she handles very well turns and slid stops
are very good.

i'm taking it you have a pivot inbetween the two wheels.
i had an 8 wheel skateboard like that once it was very smooth.

what are you trying to achieve with the extra wheels?

more stability. traction, smoothness?

or are you just doing it because you can?

next i want to sea some realy massive wheels so it looks like a monster truck. Not monster truck wheels obvously bit maynbe 3-4 foot round. now that would truck over anything.

you wouldn't need to stop at the top of the moose you could simply monster your way accross the water and carry on up bayles beach.

Now thats a beast of a buggy, How fast have you had that then? And what size of kite in what winds do you normally fly with it? How wide is that back axel?

Thats some buggy though had a go in the buggy PL are building to go across sahara the other week and yours makes that one look like a tonka toy and my std PL look like a matchbox car. If you guys get many dogs chasing you up there, they'll soon be running out of your way in that buggy and if they don't at least you'll go over them instead of it landing on you like in the std buggies.

i think top so far is 70+, 84 + with 3 wheels on the euro racer (pictured) and a 5.0m yak. gannet has a trusty 7.3m yak for 5 knots and soon a 2.5m blurr for up to 40 knots and a few inbetween, you just need to be well powered for the conditions. we all run the kite hard wired to the buggy s o that is how we can hold the power required. axle is 1.6m plus dual arms about 60mm and rim offset of 7" , so around 1900 centres, Our buggies are not built with replication or production in mind, we just make em as best as we can with what we have. Gannet is a very practical and talented fabricator, i occasionally come up with something to raise the bar and year to year the difference in what we are making is huge .
surprisingly the seat is the most critical part, id be happy to use your buggy instead and still have alot of fun as long as the seat had a good fit, as for the dogs ,not much of an issue. I love to build buggies too so i cant help but keep thinking of the next thing but as for fun on the beach a good seat and the right size and type of kite for the day is the most important. your welcome to try the big bugs at the blueball buggy bash or moose 2009 see kiteworks.co.nz for details as the events get closer.

My buggy has a 1500 axle and 1800 odd wheelbase 45kgs total on 7" rims all round, finished last weekend with many thanks to gannet and a lot more people besides. but i still use my 1400 axle PL classic in parks and for tighter beach situations and easy transport with the family, still good fun

its an awsome thing, amazing to think that its just powerd by a clever airborn golfing jacket.
dont think their is anything like that in the world yet???
check this out however what goes round comes around, 5 wheelers must have been the snizzle back then, just like now actually, funny that.
well done gannet, you have made us very proud and sufficiently envius never to look at our own buggies in quite the same way again. tho i bet my libra can stop quicker
