Check out the finished edit of the Red Bull commercial we filmed out in Hawaii earlier this year.
Some pretty sweet stuff, and a big step on the way to getting KGB a bit more exposure and respect from the Action sports world.

3 Americans, 2 Brits and 1 Kiwi ripping the slopes of an active volcano, and tearing down 400ft hillsides, powered by Ozone Manta II depower foils, being tracked by Space cam Choppers and all shot in 35mm film.

Check it out.

i liked the bit where everyone charged off the cliff. i would have liked to see a chasta style kite flying rather than switching to speed flyers. tho i have no idea if you can fly kites off massive cliffs like paragliders or if you need the updraft of a hill to keep the kite in the air.

I use to paraglide, for 6 years before getting in to the buggy.
the extra weight of a buggy would pull the paraglide out of shape.
and a big foil power kite well I,ll bring the camera, if you jump of a cliff
PS you don,t jump off cliffs with a paraglider(unless you are into selfharm),you lift off and go up.

hmmm try the the paraglider takeoff off the summit road at taylors mistake - often thought it would make a cool kite-atb spot in a NE!

just got to shoe the pg'ers out the way first though, (a kite on 25m lines should do that ).

Ok... Ill get my board built and then we can both attack it....might have to scout it out first. get a feel for the location and find out where i can land if i "accidentally" leave the ground for a period of time (if its possible)

might have to give the Old Man Range another go, about an hour and half away from here..

first trip no wind at all

2nd trip too much wind.

trick is to go when the snow is not too low, drive up to the snow, then about a 1/2 hour walk...

can't believe I haven't got the first trip vid up on youtube.... should do that..

harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

Re: RED BULL KGB COMMERCIAL 3 years, 11 months ago #16878

ive always wanted to snowboard on the beach !!! ill hopefully be bringing that sort of gear back down with me after the break. ive been looking around on google earth and noticed a huge sand covered hill side near sandfly bay..(i think) could you board down that even without snow?

any idea what the forecast is this weekend? i think there may be a chance of more than 2knots....?

yeah you can, Sandfly Bay, never been there but that's what I hear.

Forecast is for big SW and sleet. I'll probably get my wee 2 liner out for a bit of crazy buggying. I'll text ya.

Guys,
Glad you all like it.

That was a 900 foot cliff, and it wasnt windy that day. Id like to think ive got big balls, but they aint that big. The Speed flyer pilots did an awesome job, dropping from the heli at 9000ft and swooping the cliff with our mountainboards. As it was their bit never got used, instead someone decided to put a frame from a video game at the end, haha.
Jumping from hills though is great fun with a kite. Be very careful though and only try this in under 15 mph. Winds above this can get more gusty and you dont wanna gust hitting ya when youre 50 feet up do ya?

Fly safe and have fun.

Anyone wanna buy my house so i can come ride with you guys sooner??
