its hard pack wide and looooong. with hardly any other users. if you find the one or 2 fisherman are in your way you can pack up an cruise 30km down the road to another beach.... well its the same beach just a few rivers in between.
last time at waikawa (about 50km down the road) i had about 30 meters of hard sand width left and it was 3 1/2 hours after low tide.

did i mention the prevailing wind is direct on shore?

can i temp some of you auckland kiters south of the bombays to sample some different locations.?

maybe looking at an april gathering or organise something for later in the year.

I'm back in the country after April 1st and would be interested so count me in.

Haha, sweet. Im bring my C kite so I can suss it out. You can try my wing if you want. Duno maybe 20 to 30 knots.... maybe. Looking on trademe for a hand held gps and windmeter.

I work during the week but I can take a day off if the conditions are good. Would prefer a weekend though. Oh yeah that videos at the paraparaumu beach boat club just on the other side of waikanae river, if you can get over the rivers you could ride for miles. What do you think is good for the 12 meter, 10 to 15 knots?

i'm going to be driving back form wellington Wednesday arvo april 9
keen for a session on one of the beached between waikanai and himatangi if anyones interested. (weather permitting of course)

low tide is at 6pm that day so i'm leaning more toward a himatangi sesion as its further up the island. i'd probably be there mid to late afternoon.

hey i might be able to make it! the boss is going away that day. but the weather is not looking that great.

yeah your right the weather doesn't look good. i'll be driving past any way so its not a prob for me to wizz in an kite if the weather is marginal. maybe make the call tue night acording to the weather forecast to see if you want to maje the 1 1/2-2hr? drive down.
