ooh. went out and had a sweet session on the 10m venom yesturday. 20-25knots. still doesn't feel too scary at those speeds. theres definatley alot of lift.... i was practicing jumping puddles which i was pretty pleased about.... timing the jump to clear the puddles on the ground maybe a couple of meters wide.
then a gust hit just as i jumped, up i went twice as high as i'm used to. so guess i was at least 10 foot + in the air. i thought now this could hurt if it goes wrong. i sheeted the bar out parked the kite above my head and floated back to earth sheeting the bar in just before landing. and what a smooth landing it was . oooh yeah.
so i'm super pleased that a) i got some big air (for me anyway) and B)didn't sh*t my self and merily adjusted the kite to suit to float back to earth.
nice.

great to hear you are getting used to the venom, i think the frenzy is in trouble now.. even though its a very cool kite

nah the frenzy still has a place in winds under 18 knots..... realy i'll get the venom out over 16knots. both kites have their advantages. the frenzy is up in the air super fast and pulls like a train anywere in the window all the time so its predictable and makes for glorious power slides getting air on the frenzy is more scary because theres more downwind pull at the same time. truth is the frenzy is out of the bag 90% of the time as the wind hasn't been much over 15 knots latley.

venom takes longer to set up/take off. its alot faster kite and seems to have a more straight up lift. it was like going up a glass esculator the other day sorta sureal. i find it alot easier (due to the speed of the kite) to jump and land with foward momentum.

i think my kite of choice for speed runs will be the venom.

very interesting.. i was not willing to tell you the venom was ok for winds above 20kts on the land but it seems like you have it well tamed.

i spoke to a guy on the beach today who has a 7.5m frenzy and he was asking how i thought it would go in the snow.. i dont know a huge ammount about these so i said you were the one to ask about that .

Think about this... If you like the venom 1, imagine what a synergy goes like !!

don't get me wrong the venom was pretty venomous at those wind speeds. you have to be prepaired for massive powersliding and air. i'm pretty please that i've reached a stage that i can control the air to a degree and get myself out of the shit without hurting myself.

you shoulda seen the grin on my fast when i did a massive 4 wheel powerdlide up to a 6 foot wide puddle floated over it landed and carried on going.

probably the cheapest option would be to buy a second hand board and rob the running gear. i got my mbs gear from landboarding nz. bought it all new. if you need any advise on board building give me a yell.

ooh 7.5 frenzy. nice.
