Ozone has gone ahead and released 3 new water kites for 2007.

Ozone Instinct Light

This more affordable, ultra light, 3 strut kite is perfect for traveling and has two distinctive roles, one setting for faster turning wave action and the other setting slows the kite up and is perfect for schools and beginners with total depower. This kite is really easy and fun to ride. The re-launch is a dream - just turn the bar and the kite re-launches. Its rock solid stability and forgiving nature make it ideal for teaching. Due to having only 3 struts this kite is light in weight making it ideal for wave riding or general free-riding. Its a really fun kite and just hangs there in the air ready for whatever you want it to do. The kite feels so light and for wave-riding is simple and effective to allow you to concentrate 100% on the wave and be able to forget about the kite. We also think that this kite is ideal for the occasional kiter or family that do not want to invest full-on into kitesurfing as they can only ride occasionally.

This kite is great for un-hooked riding, its so stable and the power is constant and gives incredible confidence to go for new tricks. It has no stall tendency and is a sweet performer

Ozone Instinct Sport

The new generation of the original Instinct, this 5 strut kite (7 Struts in original Instinct) is smoother, more powerful and has a faster turning speed than last years kite, it still excels unhooked, still loves the gusts and keeps its huge wind range. One of the strongest feedbacks we had on the original Instinct was it wasnt the easiest kite to relaunch in light winds or gusty winds, it needed the right technique. David has completely re-designed the plan form and tip shape amongst other things and the re-launch on the Sport even in really light winds is now a dream.

Ozone Instinct Edge

This kite has been designed to have higher performance than the Instinct Sport. The energy it creates is amazing and the result in speed and height had everyone leaving the water with huge grins! The feedback normally sounds like this >> This kite is amazing, when can I buy one?

All our distributors & riders that have been testing the EDGE have been amazed by the explosive height and hang-time that this kite offers and its fast turning speed

We had quite a few discussions about how to position this kite and where it sits in the market. Its like an old school style of kite, if you are an advanced rider & want to go high and have huge hang time then this kite is for you. On comparison the instinct Sport is a new school style of kite more suited for unhooked, freestyle and wave riding.

hey it sounds good any idea where you can get a pic or prices would like to see more but ozone tubes are bloody expensive.

They haven't arrived in NZ yet (anywhere yet in fact) Su is hoping to get her team rider kites in a week or so - we'll do a review once they are here.

The Instinct Light is meant to be better value for money the the others in the range.

We do have a couple of '06 Instincts at VERY good prices right now - perhaps so does Tim??

i was interested to see if the new ozone kites are 4 line bow style or 5 line.

i have my eye on a new sonic from tim at this stage but was keen to see what ozone had on offer im not all that keen on 5 lines./ 06 model

Hi Paul,

The 07 Instincts are all 5 line kites - with a few changes in the kite attachment points.

Simple they are - no pulleys at either the kite or bar, no arch bridal etc.

Largest sweet spot of any kite I've flown too, new ones should be even better.

Are they the right kite for you?? Big question that one - best to try it and find out if you like them...

I need to get the final prices BUT the 12m Light is less than $2000 retail!

I had a quick session yesterday on the 12m Light, and also did a lesson on it. So quick to relaunch, smooth power and very stable - I need a longer session on it for a full assement. Unlike the '06 Instinct this kite has full 'throw the bar' BOW style depower - no matter what the setting on the trim line.

Had a longer session later in the day on the 13m Sport, it is very much a replacement to the '06 Instinct, but faster turing, faster relaunch. lighter bar pressure and less stall. I had a BLAST on this kite, even in the 12-15 knots we had at the end of the session. Again need more time/wind to able able to give a full review.

As always from Ozone both kites are very well built.

Hi Paul,

I've been using the kites for a couple of weeks now. My CHOICE to ride is the 12m light, it is a very user friendly with smooth power and fast depower.

The 13m Sport we have is too big for my weight to be a single kite quiver, one of the locals here (105kg) who owns a '06 13m tried them back to back a couple of days ago likes the new model but not enough to want to upgrade. I'd have a 11m for a single kite quiver, and this would jump better than the 12m light, but the light gives faster depower on waves.

I have had one quick session in 12-14k on the 11m Edge, that kite will be Su's favourite (she is out with an injury right now) jumps HUGE and turns fast for such a high aspect ratio kite. Depower is there but needs more rider skill to get the most out of it.
