I took my 4.5m bullet for a fly on saturday for the first time, was very surprised how much pull it had I ended up getting wasted a few times.. I done a few unexpected jumps....very sore today

If thats what just a 4.5m foil can do would say a 14m C type kite like an AeroII have approx 3x the pull of the bullet?

A 12m foil would have more pull.
I have a 5.5m bullet and i rekon it has the same power as my 10m naish C kite.i always think of it as a foil has the same power as a c kite 1 or 2 meters less then doublt the foil. eg.i would say my 5.5m bullet pulls like a 9m C kite.

So i would say a 14m aero would have only about 2 times the power.

Thanks southie, yeah the 4.5m bullet has some pull alright, Im still sore after the weekend, I was flying it in gusty/turbulent conditions,
I havent had the chance to fly it in a smooth wind yet,
I have a 14m aeroII which I havent flown yet, still a bit scared to be honest

thats the main thing foils aint to good for and thats gusty wind.I rekon its just dam dangerous landboarding in that.thats why i prefer to use my c kites on which i can adjust my power while riding and not get whomped straight off the board wen a gust hits

I agree that foils can kick and pull during gusts but that is half the fun of it!

Especially when you are riding in a buggy and you start going sideways its just a whole lot of fun batteling with the kite to regain control!

but that is in a buggy not on a board so i can accept that there would be a difference.

Usually this little voice in your head says " I shouldn't being doing this accompanied by a rapid heart beat " Gut feeling is a good kite barometer to tell you if the conditions are cool .

I got rag dolled when i had lessons early last year with a 3.5 Bullet in 20 Knots,
i launched it right into the power zone with the instructor looking on !!
Highly recommended as a great method to build respect for your kites power and the wind

I regained my confidence on a smallerr sized Flexifoil Buzz 1.2Mt kite
which i would recomend to build all your intuitive kite skills when starting out ,as a kite that size flys in winds from 5 - 60knots no probs and
doesn't kick you , you can fly it with handles & a bar

Alternatively if the budget doesn't stretch to another kite , only take the Bullet out in under 10 Knots until your confidence builds, and not gusty !! and the Bullet will be your friend

PS . Southie's spot on with his conversion it's offically 7/12 . So the 4.5 would be equivalent to a 7.7 call it 8m C kite
May the WIND be with YOU
