Thanks to Ozone NZ we have a demo 13m and 9m Instinct in Ruakaka for the next two weeks.

I've flown the 13m for about 10min over the weekend in Raglan and was blown away by the range, bar feel and build quality. I'll post a full review once I get some more time on the water. (maybe today looking at the weather report...)

I got out for about 2 hours this afternoon on the 13m - this kite just blows me away - like having a 'C' kite and 'bow' kite all in one package.

Ozone has come up with a very simple but very effective progressive trim on the 5th line on the Instinct. What this means is with the trim strap out the kite flys like a very powerful 'C' kite - the 13m having a bottom end better than a 15-16m kite. Pull the strap in however and you pull twice as much 5th line than front lines - this fully engages the bridal at the kite and gives you bow like instant depower/huge top end.

For freestyle riders this would have to be a flat kite of choice with no pulleys at either the kite or the bar and the ability to trim the kite for a C kite feel at the bar you would lose nothing to your current kite quiver and gain huge range at both the bottom and top end on a given kite size.

For others who love the - throw the bar kill the power - of the current round of bow kites you can simply trim the kite to suit you and gain much higher reliability with no pulleys to jam/wear out.

What I also have to mention is the build quality of these kites I have not seen an inflatable kite with such a perfect sail cut there is not a wrinkle or flutter anywhere in the wing. Ozone have been making wings for people to jump off mountains with for a long time, and it shows in there kite build.

I cant wait to try the other sizes!
