Orewa today (Sunday) was blessed with 35 knots gusting 45 at times.

9m flat kites seemed to be dominating the kitesurfing presence, out amongst about 50 windsurfers. An attempt in launching an 8m nemesis concluded with two people dragging along the beach and me running to the kite to bring it down. Ha. I sat in the car for most of the day as my smallest kite was a 9m C kite

Go Watti.
The US Navy predicted correct.

More to come by the looks, this being their prediction for Monday 6am:

Cheese is good, cheese is nice, when I eat cheese I eat it twice. I like the taste, I like the smell, I like cheese I think it's swell.

the ESSK crew were all out @ Eastern Beach - all 9m flat kites (Best, Cabrinha, Takoon) - don't play oestrogen-fueled games or you SuK, i.e. just kite

15 ft off the coast here at its biggest - we love our Wati's sauce! There were some sticky wettie moments out there for some punters. I went out for about 12 seconds. No thank you very much. It also did not come with any wind. Wati is apparently heading your way, so keep an eye out for some huge waves dotted with bits of wetsuits, boogie boards and fishing rods.
