Know when the boost is coming by the twitch beforehand. Camera on rapid shot (ie 6 shots in 1 second). No sun - don't generally bother. Who's got that stance. Kiteworks got it yet?

The hardest part is focus as the subject is always moving, most people do tricks in a certain spot so i set the focus manually to that distance and just snap away, auto focus has a bit of a delay so multiple shots can help to get the shot you want
I could go into shutter speeds and f stops but from there it gets complicated.
If you can set the camera, go for a fast shutter speed
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

He's a well known photographer and I think he wanted to stay anonymous...

depending on how comfortable you are riding/jumping one handed - try taking a disposable waterproof camera out with you when your riding and taking pics of yourself/your boardgoing through the water/your kite etc. just be sure there arent too many peps out to crash into if u eat shit doing it. i found i got some really interesting results. all close ups but quite unusual nevertheless.

There's a wonderful digital camera on the market now, it's called the Pentax Optio WPi, it's like any other digital camera (6MP) except it is waterproof, but doesn't look waterproof. Quite small, so it will perfectly fit in the kite, in the lines, on a helmet, etc...
On a 1GB SD card, you can record something like 25minutes of movie... plenty of time to throw your best expression session!
all we do is Portnawake
