Try www.windsurf.co.nz > "Auckland Wind" for real time wind reports.

www.windsurfing.co.nz for reports on local beaches (just keep in mind these were written by windsurfers and some of the mentioned beaches do not have the necessary space for ease of launching kites).
Typically, try Orewa in NE-E-SE and Shoal Bay/Muriwai/Shakespeare in W-SW. (other mid-city beaches become super crowded in the summer months).
