Members and potential members...

The CWA AGM is happening on Wednesday October 5, from 7:30pm in the Bridge Bar, Ferrymead Tavern, Christchurch. The bar will be open (no we're not shouting), and finger food will be provided.

On the agenda:

First the boring stuff...

Financial Report
President's Report
Election of Officers

Then the excitement!

Upcoming Events: Outdoor Show, Open Day, Lake Clearwater...
Other Issues: The Estuary Windsurf Area and Green Edge Project...
And more?

PS: Have you seen our new website www.cwa.org.nz ?

Hope to see you there.
John Thyne,

Hi John,
Something I'd like to be done that could probably be easier to do through the CWA is a kind of hook up with the guys in the surf life saving clubs from Brighton (North & South), maybe get in touch with them, explain them a bit more what kiting is about (it's not only wearing boardies over wetties), the risks, how to safely rescue someone, etc...
The purpose of this would be to keep them aware and somehow ready for a rescue if a kiter needs to be rescued.
Obviously, when I'm talking about this, I'm thinking about going out more and more often when the wind is cross offshore , something we had quite a few days last year, and if not too shittily gusty could turn into awesome waveriding sessions.
So basically, I wouldn't mind to pay a few bucks if I know there is someone keeping a distant eye on me, and able to come rescue me if shit happens.

Don't know if this makes sense, but no harm talking about it, I guess

Cheers
all we do is Portnawake

You'd probably have to cough up for some night vision goggles if you want them to keep an eye on you Alex
