Not worth travelling from anywhere to go out in an easterly at Raglan... has been used by desperate locals or competition band-wagons.

It's not a wind you can rely on , having to come over the hakaremata/divvy range it's very shifty & gusty. Very occasionally it's on, but you have to be very deprived to be bothered.

If I were you, I would head to the east-coast if thats where you're closer to.

Tomorrow looks better - 15 to 17 knots Northerly - - surely some off the boys will come out to play.

Absoletly no sodding wind this weekend - despite buoyweathers predictions.

Hey! You know what they say about bad carpenters blaming their tools, I could see there was nothing coming for here....
Try wxmaps.org/pix/aus.slp.html for a 7 day surface synoptic map - combined with bouyweather it gives you an excellent idea of whats coming...
Just have to get that local knowledge tuned and you'll be sweet ( Northerly/Southerly is hopeless for Rags & easterly is beasterly).

we scored a fun sesh at te arai point today on big kites and knee high slop. just a short 35 minute drive from the hibiscus coast (plus an additional hour through the forest roads due to hippy's navigational shortcomings.

Hi Shaan,

Mike Holland and I use to surf at Te Arai/Forestry when we were at school (too many years ago now!). Were you and the Hippy riding on the north or south side of the Point?

Su and I are looking forward to getting back up north and checking out all the places I use to chase waves at...

Cheers,

DK

HaHa! sounds funny, those forestry roads can be really easy to get lost in though... Probably twice as hard for Hippy considering - well you know - relapses and all that?!!

I'm just stoked that there's no wind down here at the moment, 'cos I'm all Hong-Kong flu'ey - middle ear infection been going on for 12 days now.... You know whats worse than having no wind ?
It's having lots of wind & not being able to go out - like last week AAARRGH!!

hong kong flu? mate you get around. there's only one cure that works and that's a couple of weeks in the tropics, and guess what?
