Forecasting 15 ne and a high pushing in for the weekend

Why is it always windy for the kitesports challenge?

Got me a mountainboard on loan so you'll be able to laugh at me trying to figure out how to ride it....

Just me coming up this time unfortunatly, kids, upcoming world trips and other stuff keeping the rest at home. Oh well more space for kite-junk in the wagon.

Craig
harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

Yeah, I've built a slider for the weekend, hopefully strong enough to last longer than the weekend, eh Shaan!

Great weekend! Thanks to all who turned up, 35-40 kiters, once again a brillant turnout. Saturday was epic, an easterly breeze built throughout the day, then maxed out at 25-28 knots by late pm. Peter Lynn dominated in the buggy, consistantly fastest times throughout both days. The downwind race was postponted till Sunday because the wave riding, jumps & freestyle on the water was way to good! Cheers to Su & Dave for hosting the BBQ Saturday night. Sunday brought a light easterly, 10-12 knots. The Mountainboard boarderX was hard work for the riders, Nicholas & Decay dominating. The downwind race late in the afternoon from South Brighton, round the Pier to North Beach was taken out by Nicholas, who only needs to sneeze into his kite to get kiting.
Thanks to 'Di Mare' on the Pier for hosting the prizegiving, plus a special thanks to the sponsors for their support: DAKINE, Temple Basin Ski Area, Peter Lynn Kites, WIPIKA, SUK, Stance DVD magazine, KITESPORTS.
Cheers to all who turned up & were part of this event. Great fun!

Thanks again Tim for putting on yet another dam fine kitesports event.

I think this is the 4th year running you've managed to have sunny weather AND more than enough wind to keep the crowds happy. How on earth do you do that?

It was great to see some of the Nelson crew make it down and Craig made the trip up from Duners to be rewarded with a beach session on his 13m!

As alway the kitesports challenge was a super fun event, with results as interesting as 'most dangerous man in a buggy'.
