Hi again suckers. Kiting at Lancelin right now with a 10m, perfect sunny day with 30degrees outside, chicks in bikinis on the beach, waves + flat water. Don't think I'm going to come back home...

yep it's been the best summer yet here in AK.... while 99% of the
population have been grizzlin about the weather... us wind junkies have been lappin it up.

Tangled it sounds like it's been good over there in WA... so ya living there now?
eastern beach hates my guts because i did a big crap in my wetsuit whilst out there kiting 6 years ago. That's why i'm the most unpopular kiter in NZ. Beast from da east reprazent mutha f#$$%@ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi tangled, good to see a familiar Auckland face down at Woodies, Shame about the wind, 35 + knots is no fun at all, you don't often see white caps on the downwind side...

Next time you're heading out this way, drop me a line, I'm psyched to meet up with some Auckland kiters, maybe do a roadie next year or something,

cheers bro

Lance

Whazzup? Dammit, just got back in to Auckland this morning - cold, crappy and a serious lack of hot chicks in bikinis. Nope - definitely didn;t miss a single thing here in Auckland. Kited pretty much every day in WA - Perth (Woodmans Point), Lancelin (Lano) and Geraldton (Gero). Was like a wet dream I tell you! Definitely going back next year!

Jeez, don't know what happened to that last reply, but it was so good I had to post it 3 times. I'm turning into a BlownAway clone and replying to myself!!

Hi Brad, Yeah all good, I'm working as an install contractor, working for myself is sweeeet... I've got my kit in the van with me, and if I start early, or knock back a bit of work, then I'm done by midday, home for lunch, and pumping up in time for the seabreeze at about 2pm.

I just bought a new kite- 9m, and its becoming my new favourite thang, everyday has been 20+ knots, except when I saw Tangled at the local, then it was 30+, but still sunny, its pretty cool to be able to ride strong winds that aren't frontal- no gusts, squalls etc...

On the downside, theres a severe lack of wave action around Perth, (I miss those big crazy days at Muriwai), and I'm spending a fortune in suncream.

I don't know how long the seabreeze goes for, it was pretty late kicking in this year (late November), but should be all good through to at least March.

Would be awesome to see you out here next year, get a crew together, and I'll give you the grand tour!

C ya

Yep - met up with Westy on my last day in Perth. Headed out to Woodmans Point and kited on the down-wind side of a huge sand bar. Niiiice. Super flat and fully lit with a 8.5. Kinda like Meola but just alightly better water quality. Oh - and chicks in bikinis lying all over the beach.

Kited Point Moore and Coronation Beach at Gero - goodfor big airs, too cross-shore for down the live wacve riding though. But again had 3 days fully lit on the 8.5 until around 3ish, when it picked up another 5 to 10 and the polseboarders were even complaining, some out on 3.7's.

So, Lano was definitely the spot. Loads of loose women (apparently, so my poleboarding mates tell me), huge flat areas then a really nice reef break with solid down-the-line riding to be had, from 1 to 8ft when I was there. Fully lit again on the 8.5. Kinds frustrating when you're after light 10 or 12 weather, so you can dial in these back-roll kiteloops!

and house prices in gero are less than 150 grand too.... definately cheaper than Auckland that's for sure... wouldn't need a job so kite every day... sounds great. Looks like i'll need to relocate.

As tangled pointed out it was quite cold and crappy in the morning here in AK but it fined up and the wind got up to 30 knots at PH. Today looks a bit of a fizzer so far though.. dunno what it's like at Orewa but here at Eastern it's not that inviting though ti mite get up later (day is still young 3pm).

Yo Lance, congrats on your performance in the Aussie nationals. We will claim you as a Kiwi-trained Safa / Ocker.

Had some groovy wave riding at Orewa this weekend. Life aint too bad.
