Hi,

I am from AUSTRIA, and will be visiting NZ (christchurch) starting 16th december on, for a month. I will not bring my board from home this time, but instead will get another board there.

Does anyone know a good place/shop/school to get one..say a previous year board or second hand one with a good price range. A possibility of board testing is also super.

If someone can help me out on this, I would be most happy. I will be staying in the heathcote valley for few days, so i presume it is near the estuary or sumner...?? No idea...but somewhere there.

Thanks

Hi Headhunter,

As Adrian said above Groundswell is a usual stop for visiting Kiteboarders to Christchurch.

You can also do the rounds by stopping by Eastcoast Boardriders on the Estuary - a short walk from Groundswell ask for Matt he will be more than happy to help you.

About 500m back towards the city along Ferry road city from these shops is Kitesports.co.nz - you can also check their website out from the link on this site. You might run into Morgan, Su or the owner Tim - all three are super stoked on all forms of kiting and there is usually a video going if the wind isn't good for riding.

The heathcote valley is very close to the estuary and not too far from the beach either.

If you see the Decay Van parked at the estuary say hi - I've always got a board or two in the back for demo.

Too bad you aren't arriving a few days earlier - we have the Canterbury Champs on this weekend - the first big comp of the season!
