The tides are high around midday to 2pm for the three days. Not really high tides but this is the best tide weekend for Feb.
Entry fee probably around $50-60.
We are still working on lots of issues, only just decided we should do it a couple of days ago.

Why can't it be the Nationals??

Since we don't have a national body anyways whose to say that it isn't!?? (or is, seems to be a pointless discussion until we have an elected governing body type thingy, till then hats off to anyone good enough to organise an event!!!)

Infact, I hear there was a Nationals event just last Sunday out East somewhere, the BLOWNAWAY NATIONAL CUP.

The 'Underground Natioanl/International Tray Event' has a nice ring to it!

Bottom line is that national comps need wind... hence the reason why it ain't held in Auckland during the summer ("kitebeach" Orewa ain't exactly a kite beach during the summertime now is it?). The fact that the SI gets pumpin wind over the summer will translate to the nats allways being held in the south.

As it's Christchurch odds are that it'll blow so it should be a great event.

That's sort of the point, we have no governing body so anyone can call it the Nationals if they want. Snowboarding in Oz used to have two different "nationals" so having governing bodies doesn't really stop the naming issue either. That being said every event in Chch called the nationals has had a higher degree of orgainsiation and attendance than the other comps. Of course one year we had two winners as well so who knows.

I personally will be at the nationals and have a strong desire to win which I most likely will; with this title under my turban I will entitle myself Lord of all New Zealand, National Champion, and King of the camel rooters.

We went through this whole thing about a national body and it would have taken the diplomatic skills of Genghis Khan to get it up and running because of the endless bitching and whining. The upshot of this is - if the most people agree that its the nationals, then it's the nationals. I don't mean to piss anyone off, enough with the fucking whining.
