These beaches look good on N to E wind, but has anyone kited these estuaries in SW ?

hey slyde, ive done the estuary in a sw,it works well look 4 the hobbie cats and pole boarders for a clue as to direction and speed. 8)
there r no answers only more questions...

Ive had a few sessions in the Whanaga estuary in the SW.

Can get feckn gusty in there as it comes down the valley, as you can guess and with a strong tide running its quite surreal.

More room the further up you go as its dam tight down by the mouth with the cliff and all those rocks, but that sandy riverbank is a load off fun to slide along.

All in all I would probably give it a miss unless your hanging out and cant be arsd taking a drive.

If I could work out how to post photos on here I'd show what the estuary further North looks like!

i jumped off the pauanui side about 100 mts down from the bridge and downwinded it all the way to the beach,and i remember it was gusty, but the water was great. 8)

Cool, I'll give it a blast. I've got a weeks holiday out that way real soon and cant be arsed driving. Heres hoping for a week of Northerlies!!

if its northerly jump the beach,its a mad bit of coastline down there, i didnt get a chance, bloddy s/w !.
