Request from local council/ maori landowners to access the beach via the STAIRS. Keep OFF the fragile dunes... Currently the area we are rigging on is being eroded & we are trying to keep the human impact to a minimum.

i heard it's going to be NE and pissing down most of the weekend, and suggested we change the venue to orewa but gavin couldn't get permission from lee to use the beach.

Lets vote on it! All those who want to kite at Lees place be there this afternoon, tomorrow and maybe Sun. After a number of sessions discussing the merits of kiting Rgas in a NE we can then decide whether or not to go. If we stay, then we ask "Nana".


Or we just don't give a ^%%$$# and kite there anyway.

I see some alternatives here...

Raglan is kiteable in N.E. so long as it's 20kts & the tide is incoming...

I think Tony Bruce will let us use his harbour if we all buy a Naish kite...wait a minute, let me get that right, a Slingshot... especially if you Blow Him.

It still looks like it might go N.W. on sunday....

Or you could all come down saturday arvo we'll all get really smashed for Dougs memorial, when you could be at Orewa (with Lee's permission)

You'll sit around on Sunday thinking How much you miss Orewa ,decide it's not going to go N.W. .... Go back to Orewa, then get a text from raglan locals saying it is going off ..." wind started up late in the day N.N.W. 20kts! "

Or there really may be no good wind at all - Northerly all day so you'll all go back to Orewa... Leaving Raglan locals to enjoy Monday & Tuesday with absolutely perfect Westerlies 25-30 kts!

Some people have gone to some trouble to organize it... Wether you decide to come or stay in Orewa, (with Lees permission) Tauranga or Timbuctoo it's up to you. Or you could pull finger & get down to Nth Islands premier Kitespot (that is Raglan to all you sad cases who have never been here.)

Raglan has world class Surf breaks, epic kiting , & a superb coastal flying (Hangies & Panties) site...

I should know, I have had the priviledge of enjoying these pastimes for what some would say a disgusting amount of time....Being one of those crazy artistic types that can never hold down a "real" job, I have had to find a way to employ myself so I can still get my fix whenever conditions are good....

Raglan is like a big kids playground & more & more people are discovering this.

whether the hippy and i score a sesh at orewa first or not, we are definitely coming down to rags to drink gavin's liquor and party on tonight. i give fair warning that i will also be firing my shotgun in the main street and at the beach at random times, testing sean's theory.

unfortunately my travel plans are in the hands of a 6'2" dang long-haired hippy who always talks about saving the world, but all he DOES is smoke pot and go kiteboarding.
