Great way to start Wanakite.
Today we headed up to Cadrona, parked up and went snowkiting off the SW side. Everyone had a great day, great fun, epic infact.
04 Slingshots dominated relaunching (easy on standard setup), kiteloops, hangtime, awesome session. 13m Fuel, underpowered, but still thats all you needed, others on similar sizes. More tomorrow..... 8)

Clear blue skies, on 17s mid morning, back at Cadrona, mostly tracked from yesterday except upper ridge, Alex and Aaron from the Slingshot snowkite team showing us what hangtime is, Big 5-10m high jumps with kiteloops, Aaron 'flying' 20m high, 300m down the SW face, not intentional of course. Later, as the wind picked up big kites were too much and starting to get hazardous (potential for flying off ridge over to skifield side and die) so 13s came out. 05 Fuels are truly awesome, neat reverse relaunch system, fifth line available for massive depower.
TV3 got a taste of whats to come, check out 'Sportzah' Thursday 9.30pm

Your onto it Neil. Today was a great session at the snow farm, 20 plus kites, good winds and lots of untracked terrain, fun session, everyone was stoked, especially the dog who pissed on my kite bag. After two solid days on the slope at Cadrona it was epic to ride the rolling terrain of snow farm, big smiles all round.....

just got back from Wanakite last night...aptly named cause I soo wanakite aagh the temptation. despite that frustration I had an awesome time checking out the whole snow kite deal and catching up with the southern crew. Cheers for the hospitality especially Tim... your a legend

Slingshots snow kite director Aaron Sales and team rider Alex Peterson along with photographer Richard Hallman are in NZ for the next 2 weeks doing R & D and shooting promo shots mostly in the Wanaka/ Queenstown area.

i watched sportzah (yawn) but not a lot of kiting action. maybe it was just some polynesian dudes with pxt phones who claimed they were filming you for tv3.

It was a programme between adverts alright!! I agree brother Shaan it was one very long yawn.....
