TOPIC: Looking to get into the sport, Hoping to fly someones trainer kite

Looking to get into the sport, Hoping to fly someones trainer kite 8 months ago #27924

Hey guys, my names Alex, im new to the forum.
I was down at pt chev the other day watching the kite boarders rip round and decided that this is a sport i could definitely get into. i am very competent at all board sports i have tried, ive spent a winter in Canada working and living at the snow, snowboarding every day, spent 3 summers out on the lake wake-boarding, and can beat a mountain bike in a race down queen st (from the top) on my long-board. kite boarding seems like the next evolutionary step. however before i commit money that i should be spending on other things to another hobby, i would love to have a jam on somebody's trainer kite (2-3sqm) just to try it out.

I will get lessons once i buy a setup but i am hoping that someone in Auckland would be willing to take me to a nice open park and show me the basics for 40 minutes or an hour, just so i can get the feel for a kite.

Please reply on here or give me a txt on 0272557271 if you think you can help me out. it would be great to get to know some of the guys in the scene too.
Thanks
Alex.

When you book some kite lessons you will use a trainer kite at first. And they provide all stuff! So I think it is cheaper get lessons and buy stuff later, as plummet suggested you.

Unfortunatly I have not any trainer kite in NZ.

See you,
Roberto

I also think its best to have a lesson first, before buying your own.
