Hello everybody,
I'm Roberto from Italy, I went in Auckland few days ago and I will be here for about three years.

As on subject, I use kite on water and on land. In Auckland I have only my 5\4 wetsuit and my trampa (good mix ).

In Italy I flew Peter Lynn Vortex and Venom. Once I flew some new PL Charger on land only. I'm seeking a freestyle\freeride kite, it might be a foil or lei. As kiteboard I liked very much the naish momentum

I weight 60 kg only, what kite size do you suggest me?

What about spots? I read something about Point Chevalier, it seems to be a good spot in the city. And about landboard? It is possible kiting in Auckland Domain? Where can I buy helmet and other protective gear? I need some cheap shoes and clothing too, any suggestions?

In order to buy new stuff here, I would like to try a lot of different kites. Any shop suggestion for demo?

Thank you very much,Roberto

Talk to Perin at kiteworks he might be able to hook you up with a peter lynn charger or other brand inflatable. Go to a mountain bike shop for cheap body armour and helmet.

9m lei would be a nice start.

If you want to save some cash then buy second hand. trademe is the place to buy second hand.

www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=390891562 The the link to my 9m c4 i'm selling!! shameless plug !

Orewa is the goods for for easterlies and muriwai for westerlies.

Hi Guys,
thanks for answers.

Are there any public transport to Orewa and\or Muriwai?
It is not the time to buy a car, I have to buy new kites and harness first. And it is too early for drive on the left.

The C4 seems interesting what about range?

Surerly I will go to Kite works.

Bye

www.maxx.co.nz/ for the transport side of it. what suburb are you staying in ?
priorities ...kite then car you will soon work out why everyone in auckland has a car but i think you should be able to get around that for a while if you live in the right location. ABC car rentals is very cheap for weekend runs to the beach etc . i think www.google.co.nz ( search for things) www.windguru.cz (wind) and www.ofu.co.nz (tide) are going to good web pages for you to answer a lot of your questions....

C4 has a range of 16 to 30 knots for me (80kg). Actually I was untrimmed at 30 so could have gone higher. Its a fast kite. a lot faster than venom and vortex with more depower.

Its a very dynamic kite that likes to be flown hard. You can get some good boosts out of it an soft landings with a good technique. But it is quite punchy for land use.

If you want a kite to crank loops and ride agressively this is it. If you want more chilled glidy slower action more like the venom then this isn't the kite to get.

Mmm I want a kite for land and water too. In England people use c4 on land, I would try it.

But what about Domain? It seems a good spot, is it allowed landkiting there?

you may fined it a bit gusty due to all the trees, but theres no problem kiting there. as long as you obey the stay of the football field signs when out (to stop them getting to muddy) and be nice to other park uses etc....
conrad was here! when not ridein'
Pump to 50 P.S.I. for xtra speed!!

Did a lot of downhill boarding there but never much kiting as it is very gusty most of the time. Better to head up to Bastion point if the wind is right.

Hi guys,
so I have the kites and i'm looking for harness and board. My harness size is S and about the board... I want a naish momentum 2010 132x41! So if someone want change board, please let me know!

About the car, I suggest you read this
www.cannonrocks.com/blog/?p=511
exactly this:
Let me open a parenthesis on driving in Sardegna. If you have never driven in Italy, be warned! Sardegna is not for the faint hearted. People drive like maniacs on very tortuous roads having total disregard for road laws.

So as I come from Sardegna...

Seriously, if someone go landboarding/kiteboarding and wants to share the petrol, I'm here!

Bye,
roberto

Hey, I'm just arrived in Auckland a couple of weeks ago, found a place to live up in devonport although a car is a little out my price range currently.

I'm new to kitesurfing although I've got a reasonable background of board spots and have sailed all my life. Although I've seen spots around here that look kitable I;m not too keen to head out by myself yet, anyone kite around here and want to go for a session?

if you want to drop me a text my number is 223149802

I've bought a wetsuit but it's yet to arrive, hoping to get in the water this week but only have a 9m at the moment and would be a little overpowered I suspect.

Cheers for the link

if your keen to go to the moose meet. post up on the western circuit facebook page. someone will have room in a vehicle to fit you in.

remember its 50km up the beach to the moose and you have to bring everything to live on for 3-4 days. tent, food, drink......
