Hey, Im sort of new in Auckland and the forecast 4 this week dosen't looks that bad. So i thought, maybe there is someone i could join 2 do some kitesurfing this week, coz don't like 2 go by my own on the water.

sorry bro, didn't read your post, sounds great you are the secondone who wrote me a massage, i don't hav a car as well so looking 4 a carpool too, where are u staing in auckland? i stay on the northshore and i'm going to catch a bus down long bay probably 2morrow or on thursday.

hay frank new it would be. orewa does not seem to like the northerlys to much, 2 or 3 times now been caught out strong NE forecast, wind goes little more north then goes right over orewa, get back to town to find its pumping.

with Orewa its stronger with a easterly.. the straighter the better and weaker as the angle changes but it has stronger wind than Auckland when its in the right position.. Aucklands beaches are not the best for kitesurfing but we do get the occassional good day without too much gust in it

Orewa looked too sheltered on Sunday so I headed up the road to Manly and it was absolutely cranking.

Dont know where you kite but ,sorry mate have to disagree, auckland has great kite boarding beaches where else can you kite almost 360 deg 20 min from the city, apart from pt chev and glen dowie which can get quite gusty, there is always some where with clean air.

no worries man, i was just pointing out that most spots in Auckland has disturbed onshore wind. With Orewa its at least clean and consistent and stronger. Im hoping we get a good patch od wind thisd year

yeah know what you mean , fav spot is port waikato in sw straight off the ocean, but suprising enough, st heliers low tide Nw is my second seems to channel in around rangitoto and really solid wind and not gusty.

Hey.
The forecast for tomorrow looks well. So i want to go on the water again. But I don't know where to go to and how to get there. So who of you is going out on the water tomorrow? And can someone maybe give me a ride or just tell me where I can find a kitespot which is reachable with the busses from Auckland Central?

so that was you I had to watch on the Eastern Beach camera whilst sat at work! Left all my kit behind so couldn't go after. Hey - which way does the EB camera point as it looks like there is an island right over?

Hey Steve.
Thanks for the tip. I was in Takapuna today. It was really cool. But a bit gusty.
I was heading towards Rangitoto Island till i reached the fairway. Is it legal in NZ to cross the fairway? In Germany you have to pay a fine for crossing the fairway.

No wont get fined unlesss you cause an incident, But it is a shipping channel, be aware big arse ship might be crawling up behind you.

haha mite have been me... what time was it? i kited on Thursday and Friday at EB. Thursday was lit up on an 11m waroo and steeze board. On Friday i was FULLY lit up on a 7m ozone and a 122 flx. PUMPIN on Friday with a northerly... freakin epic

Dunno bout that camera but looks like it faces north. North is crossonshore at EB. Waiheke is to da NE. Its not very gusty at EB at all... perhaps slightly more so than Orewa but way less crowded and no surge to contend with.

yeah - that was you guys - finally got out at Heliers come 5pm. It was rather lush, if brief. So that camera's pointing at Waiheke? Makes it look REALLY close. I'll g et to EB when the days draw longer...
