as the title says. whose slapped on a gps and gone for it?

i'm interest in flat water speed obviously but also interested to know the speeds you guys are hitting in the open ocean with chop and swell.

i've only had the gps on once underpowered 14 knots in direct onshore chop. so not a very good indicator. in that instance i only managed 33kph. thats pretty sad. i'm sure i could double it in flat water.

i know theres dudes doing massive speeds on speciallist speed boards but am keen to know what the average munter will punt on a standard twin tip.

84kph at Orewa in +25knots on Instinct Edge 11m and Decay Cutlass

nice. i need to try a cutlass... i like the idea of it. i take it you did that speed in between the white wash?

iv been heaps fast fast enuff for my butt cheeks to plane across the water like smooth round shiny skimming pebbles.

i crashed, and ended up rolling up the beach..it seemed pretty fast, i realy have no idea.

There's often a shallow flat water section past the surfclub at low tides. Else just hit the flats between breaks in an outgoing tide.

49KPH in 15 knots of wind but ive been alot faster, my gps for some reason will turn itself off in the middle of a session.
After a month of shit wind I Finally got out last weekend in gusty 20-30 knots on a 10m (Maxed out) but left the GPS at home

did 41kph today in the chop. i think thats about my top end on choppy water with a twin tip with 40mm fins. maybe i could go faster in the chop with bigger fins? need to have a wang on some flat water.

Been out on a 7m in 35-40 knots and was keeping pace with the windsurfers who were recording 35-38 knot runs couldnt say how consistant the speed was or over what distance though,will have to invest in a gps next to get some real data for myself,anyone reccomend a good gps unit.

39.2knots which is 73km/h at the top of lake clearwater on a 9m rebel 09 and my std decay katana, then i fell off and did the tumbleweed, it hurt..

can usually squeeze out 36kts on the bumpy otago harbour..
