In association with our windsports club here in Christchurch the CWA www.cwa.org.nz we are again running the annual Kitesports Challenge on the weekend of the 6-7th March.
This fun kiteboarding event is sure to be a blast for everyone involved, with Wave Master, Downwinder, Buggy Time Trials, Landboard Freestyle, Best Dressed & this year we'll be dusting off all the old weapons for a 'Retro blast' in all diciplines...
Registrations will at South Brighton Park (by the SB surf club) at 10am Sat. $30 & a very cool limited tee will be presented to you:-)
We having a BBQ Sat night & there's going to be plenty of prizes up for grabs.
All kiters young, old & new are very welcome to come take part...

Peter Lynn Kites has put up domestics return airfares to the 'Moose Meet' later this year & a buggy kite for the Time Trial winner!

The KiteSports Challenge event sounds great and I sure you are going to get some good wind looking ahead at the forecast.

Would have flown down on grab-a-seat for $60 any day of the week. Just the timing is out with a trip up to Aitutakion leaving on Thursday.

WOW! Another epic weekend of riding in Christchurch for the 2010 KITESPORTS
Challenge... we were lucky enough to get NE winds of up to 15 knots on Saturday for most of the day, having a BBQ by the beach mean't the kiting kept going till dark...Sunday the NE winds came in strong in the morning, up to 20 knots, big wave conditions prevailed for a fantastic Wave Masters..as the tide dropped away the landbased crew got in some good buggy times, the wind backed off to 12-14 knots & landboarders were ripping it up all afternoon:-)
RESULTS:
Buggy 8km Time Trial: 1st Craig Knights (10.09), 2nd Kirk Hansen (10.12)
Wave Master Mens: Blair Cooke
Wave Master Womans: Kim Bunt
Landboard Freestyle & Best Dressed: Mason Griffiths
Fastest Landboard over 8km: 1st Jo Scorgie (13.23) 2nd Mason (13.27)
Retro Blast & Hardout: Roy from Nelson
