Auckland is supposed to be quite good to kitesurf in september.
There are several spot depending on teh wind direction : muriwai for westerlies, orewa for estaerlies. But you will probably get some Westerly wind most likely.
Sepetember is the end of the winter so it's not so hot ...

no need to pm me. i'm allready here. auckland's not bad during september. there shouldn't be any shortage of wind and as Taz pointed out, yes it is mostly westerly and during spring the westerlies can get very strong. you will definately need a small kite that's for sure. as for beaches. muriwai is the main westerly wave spot. there are numerous secret spots for flat water. the well known flat water spots in westerly winds are far too gusty when the winds exceed 30 knots, but will be ok if the odd lighter day occurs. definately talk to locals as auckland's not an easy place to kite. fortunately september is an easy time to kite in auckland and if you don't mind waves than you'll be sussed. pm me if you wanna know some flat water spots as the best beaches are secret. 95% of the auckland kiters don't know any of the best auckland flat water spots.
as for temp etc. it's not that warm at that time of year, how cold it feels will obviously depend on where in OZ you are from.
