Flexifoil are bringing five times world champ Aaron Hadlow to New Zealand this September along with a truck full of the latest model Flexifoil kites for you to test.

The stops on this whirl-wind tour are going to be along these lines - remembering everything in kiting is wind and weather dependent!

Monday 14th - Mt Ruapehu
Tuesday 15th - Mount Maunganui
Wednesday 16th - Raglan
Thursday 17th - Ruakaka
Friday 18th - Auckland City
Saturday 19th - Auckland Super Session @ Muriwai or Orewa

Riding at most suitable locations during the day and after sunset drinks etc. at venues to be announced soon.

For more information you can call 021 654 149

Yeah sorry for the 'up north' antics guys but Aaron was on a tight schedule between comps and we have a LOT of demo gear in tow. This meant it had to be a roadie, no flights south would have worked.

Maybe if this trip goes well he'll be keen to come back outside of the comp season for a longer mission.

Well hey, NZ is a pretty awesome place to visit in any context, so he should come give it a look anyway.

Will there at least be some filming going on throughout? Would be good to see some of the spots in the north

Let us know some more details about the Mount Maunganui session as soon as you've got them and I'll spread the word - hadn't heard anything about this.

The plan right now is to be in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday the 15th of September.

We will be hosted in the Mount by Jesse and Jasmin from Wind & Sea Kiteboarding Centre (thanks for that guys!) you can contact them for updates closer to the date.

It is a 3pm high tide that day so the plan is for an afternoon session followed by a 'Meet Aaron Hadlow' evening at a yet to be confirmed local bar.

Kiwi hospitality is awesome - we have had offers of support from every stop on this tour to help us show Aaron what a great kiteboarding destination NZ is.

However it is only a couple of days to go until he arrives and we are still madly sorting out final details of the trip.

The bar for the Mount Maunganui after match function is confirmed as Mt Mellick bar at 317 Mauganui Rd from 7pm. The crew from Assault have also confirmed that they will have their slider and kicker set up for the afternoon session - cheers guys!

Neil Briggs is flying up from Christchurch to take the 4th seat in the truck to document the whole trip in video and pictures.

The Raglan kite club are putting together the final details of the Raglan stop and we should have those up shortly.

As always you can call 021 654 149 for further info.

Fingers crossed for the wind, as it's not looking favourable at the moment! Have no doubt it will be an awesome trip regardless - see you next week.

Can't always bet on the wind but it was a still great day on the mountain. Awesome day in T-shirt weather and spring slushies with good company from the Flexifoil and RKS crew and great hospitality from Chris at the Pukenui lodge. Besides, the weather is still looking favourable for a bit of wind later in the week. Looking forward to a good demo!

It looks like Thursday in Ruakaka is still a go, with Thursday evenings 'meet n greet' being held in Whangarei at Split Bar on Rathbone street. Hadlow's kiting footage will be played on the biggest 'big screen' in town all evening starting at 7:30.

Raglan is not promising much wind for tomorow, but should be pumping later in the week, so plans are to stop in there on Friday to session it, before heading for Auckland for possibly a Muriwai session on Saturday.

We'll keep you posted as the week progresses and the weather forecasts change...

The wind has arrived here in Tauranga/Mt M. We'll be heading to the beach for an after lunch session.

What a great couple of days so far, with sunshine and amazing view while snowboarding. Some beach time yesterday and good company last night at the Mt Mellick. A surf this morning and now a kitesurf this afternoon!

On saturday we had a mean as session at Raglan . The sea breeze kicked in and the outgoing tide cranked. Bodies holding onto kites were flying around all over the place as a good session took hold spurred on by Aaron in the mix.

The forecast was for 2 - 9 knots so how cool was that!

a few taking photos and a couple of video cameras so i guess some stuff will turn up...

Is that the busiest Orewa has been? Didn't see any incidents, hopefully an angst free day.
I'd rather be in Ruakaka!

Wow - what a week, Snowboarding at Mt Ruapehu, Surfing at Mt Maunganui, kiting at Raglan and Orewa plus meeting hundreds of NZ riders along the way.

Aaron was stoked with the trip and the laid back welcome New Zealand gave him. He could also see the potential of all of our spots, even if the wind was not really around while he was here. Fingers crossed we can get him back again in the future.

We have a whole heap of people to thank so in ‘as the trip ran’ order here they are:

Chris Gebbie – thanks for having us stay at Pukenui lodge and thanks for guiding us on Whakapapa for the day. www.tongariro.cc

Mt Ruapehu for sorting out such a great day for Aaron – www.mtruapehu.com

Jesse and Jasmin, thanks for being our guys on the ground in Tauranga – getting the crew together, sorting out media and getting that DVD! www.windandsea.co.nz

The Mt Mellick bar for giving us a great venue for Tuesday night drinks.

Glen and the Assault crew for taking Aaron surfing at the Mount – www.assault.co.nz

Lynn and Vince Kay for dinner Wednesday night – the fresh scallops were awesome!

Nigel at Nectar Café in Whangarei, for both dinner and sorting out Split Bar for drinks – cheers! www.nectarcafe.co.nz

Olly and the Raglan Kite Club, the accommodation you sorted for Aaron was top class – thanks for that. (Oh and finding us some useable wind – thank the magic carpet!)

Willy from Wind and Kite (or is that NZ Kiteboarding?), great to see you drive up all the way from Wellington, can’t wait to see your pics. www.windandkite.co.nz

Perrin at Kiteworks for keeping the shop open a little longer so we could visit Saturday. www.kiteworks.co.nz

Brian, Dean and the rest of the NZ Boardstore crew for getting a BBQ sorted on short notice – sorry the original plans didn’t come thru but we were stoked on the reception we got when we did make it - Cheers. www.nzboardstore.co.nz

Dan Joblin – mate we left so much in your hands and you sorted it all – Saturday night was a blast but that is the last time we let you order rounds for the whole crew…

Chucky – you know why we need to thank you but you also know we can’t say why.

The Beachcomber Motel in Orewa – these guys gave Aaron a room on Sunday afternoon to get sorted before we headed to the airport – small thing but made a big difference. www.beachcombermotel.co.nz

Finally thanks to ALL the kiters that came and met Aaron along the way, some of you traveled a lot of km’s to see him and that didn’t go unnoticed.

Best regards,

Flexifoil
